Paid Reader Club Terms of Service
Effective: April 1, 2025
Welcome to Paid Reader Club (“we,” “us,” “our”), a platform that allows readers to earn money by reading books and completing assignments. By creating an account, accepting an assignment, or using any part of the Paid Reader Club platform, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Service.
1. Eligibility and Account Use
- You must be at least 18 years old to register or participate.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, including contact details, tax information, and Stripe payout setup.
- We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at our sole discretion for any reason, including but not limited to suspected fraud, inactivity, policy violations, or to protect the integrity of the platform.
2. How Paid Assignments Work
- Readers can choose from available assignments, each of which includes clear deadlines, compensation details, and instructions.
- You are not required to leave a review on Amazon. Reading can be verified through either a book report or a review link — both are valid.
- Once you claim an assignment, you are expected to complete it in good faith. Failure to submit may impact your ability to receive future assignments.
3. Payment Process and Stripe Payouts
- You must connect a valid Stripe account to receive earnings.
- Payments are typically made once your submission is reviewed and approved.
- You are responsible for keeping your Stripe account in good standing and monitoring your available balance.
- If Stripe setup is incomplete, incorrect, or rejected, you may not be able to withdraw funds.
4. 30-Day Withdrawal Expiration Policy
- All approved payments must be withdrawn within 30 days. If you do not withdraw within this window, your payment will expire and the funds will be forfeited.
- Expired payments cannot be reissued or recovered, even if the assignment was completed in good faith.
- This policy is essential for accurate bookkeeping, audit readiness, and compliance with IRS regulations around 1099 income reporting. Allowing indefinite unclaimed balances could create reporting errors and regulatory risk for both us and our readers.
- It is your responsibility to regularly log in and initiate withdrawals before the 30-day deadline. You will see clear indicators by clicking on the Earnings Page when a payment is available and when it is close to expiration.
5. Fraud, Abuse, and Platform Integrity
- You agree not to engage in fraudulent behavior, including but not limited to: submitting fake reviews, plagiarizing book reports, using multiple accounts, or falsely claiming to have read a book.
- We reserve the right to investigate suspicious activity and withhold or cancel payments during such investigations.
- We may withhold payment or suspend accounts at our sole discretion if we determine that doing so is necessary to prevent abuse or maintain platform fairness.
6. Review Independence
- Readers are never told what to say or required to leave positive reviews.
- Reviews, if submitted, must be honest and reflect your personal reading experience.
- You are responsible for understanding Amazon’s guidelines and ensuring your Amazon account is in good standing.
7. Tax and Reporting Obligations
- If you earn over the legal IRS threshold, we will issue a 1099 form and submit the information to the IRS as required.
- You are solely responsible for reporting your income accurately and paying any applicable taxes.
8. Account Suspension and Termination
- We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, at our sole discretion.
- Grounds may include but are not limited to: repeated missed assignments, violation of platform rules, abusive behavior, or fraud.
- If your account is suspended, any unpaid balance may be forfeited.
9. Limitation of Liability
- We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party services (e.g., Stripe, Amazon).
- We do not guarantee any minimum earnings, number of assignments, or continued availability of the platform.
- Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
10. Changes to These Terms
- These Terms may be updated periodically. You are responsible for reviewing them regularly.
- Continued use of Paid Reader Club after changes are posted indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
